Introduction:

QA Passed
Sutherland Research & Development created the Computer & Components, Testing Refurbishment & Redistribution Department to combat exponentially growing ewast problem currently being experienced in Australia.

Refurbishment & Redistribution:
E-Recycle is not a dirty word,
Too many computers, computer components and periferals are simply dumped or offloaded to bargan outlets with NO quality assessment or testing conducted. This risk tranferance has forced buyers to assume all second hand computers and parts are suspect.
This culture of "Caveat Emptor" has forced those who can ill aford a faulty part to buy new over second hand and choose to discard systems that with a simple fix would have been quite servicable had they testing facilities in place.
Refurbishment of equiptment includeds all relivent technical documentation and requisite drivers, Redistrubution carries a garety that all equiptment sealed with the QA Passed sticker has been tested and passed as functional by SR&D labs.

Social & Eco Responcability over financial gain
SR&D Subsidises activityies in the Computer & Components, Testing Refurbishment & Redistribution Department as it reconised also that many people considering buying second hand where often economically disadvantaged and did not deserve to have junk foisted upon them, so put in place a Quality Assurance Program that would ensure that buyers could purchase second hand equiptment with confidence, do a good turn for the enviroment and save systems that would otherwise been landfill.

vikingPCIADSL2ModemCard

Viking PCI ADSL2+ Modem Card:
Turn your old PC's into a stand alone Firewall / ADSL2+ router with this PCI ADSL2+ modem.
The Viking PCI ADSL2+ Modem provides a fast, reliable and seamless broadband Internet connection at speeds up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream.
The faster uplink speed of ADSL2+ is well suited to server/gateway applications for VOIP, VPN, HTTP and FTP servers. The faster downlink speed of ADSL2+ is ideal for fast internet access and also IPTV (Internet Protocol TV).
Being a fully integrated card, no external plug packs are required and cabling is simplified to just an ADSL line connection. The need to purchase an extra ethernet card is also eliminated, as this feature is built into the card.
The onboard ethernet controller (RTL8139) makes the modem appear to the O/S as a standard Network card. Thus the Viking can be used with almost any modern O/S without the need for special drivers. This includes Windows, Linux, Solaris, xBSD etc.
Three different management methods are supported for ease of operation. For most applications, the web interface is adequate and a telnet CLI interface is provided for more advanced applications. SNMP support also provided for use in large/enterprise networks.
